My friend Nick Heward the MUSICIAN

To my students,

You are all bright, creative and smart individuals. I want you to know that I appreciate all of your talents. I have the same passion for the arts and creativity as you do, believe it or not. I get excited by a soulful song or an amazing drawing just like you. Science is my life, but I love art. It is what I do for fun outside of the classroom.

I know many of you look at high school as something that has to be done, not something to be enjoyed and cherished. Many of you know that your art will be what you do as your career once you graduate, but many others still have no idea what they want to do. I want you to know you can do anything that you work hard for. You can do anything that you put your mind to.

That being said, I want to share some music with you. It is my hope that you all explore the music of Nick Heward. Why? He is someone like you. He is an artist. He didn't have the most enjoyable high school experience. He went to four different high schools, and has a lot of stories to tell with his music. He is truely a poet and he is a successful musician that lives right here in Phoenix. He is my friend and I want to support his growth as a musician, so I am sharing his music with you. I hope you like his stuff as much as I do. Check him out of Facebook and watch this video about him here http://vimeo.com/28446099  Enjoy! :)

If you would like to talk to him about music or get into contact with him, let me know and I will see what I can do.

-Ms. H
